ASTM A588 structural steel plates have better atmospheric corrosion resistance in most environments than carbon structural steels with or without copper addition. When properly exposed to the atmosphere, ASTM A588 structural steel plates are suitable for many applications in the bare or unpainted condition. ASTM A588 steel grades are A588 grade A, A588 grade B, A588 grade C, A588 grade K.
