Makuti is derived 100% from the coconut tree. The coconut leaves are tied around a piece of rope. The length of rope is always variable depending on the type of structure being constructed. The length of leaf tied around the rope varies from 24"-26". The rope type makuti is suitable for constructing umbrellas or gazebos. The product is sutiable for roofing in tropical areas as it maintains the low temperature under the roof. It is also strong and long-lasting.
