This sub-module is inserted within the switch fabric of the 3Com Switch 7700 4-Slot chassis and delivers four ports of high-performance 10/100/1000BASE-T copper Gigabit connections.

This is particularly helpful when Gigabit Ethernet ports are required for an uplink when using Fast Ethernet modules in the chassis payload slots.

The 3Com Switch 7700 4-Port 1000BASE-T Fabric Sub-Module operates only in the fabric of the Switch 7700 4-Slot chassis; this sub-module is not supported on the Switch 7700R 8-Slot or Switch 7700 7-Slot chassis.
