Starting with braided fiberglass yarns in a flexible substrate; it is then coated with a high grade silicone rubber. This rugged silicone coating makes the heat sleeve resistant to most chemicals including hydraulic fluids, oils, and fuels. The silicone coating also makes it resistant to abrasion and fraying. In addition the rugged silicone coating makes this heat shield sleeve ideal for protecting welding lines and cables.
