TCAT-S029 is a delayed-action, hydrolysis-resistant organotin catalyst in the TCAT Tin Catalysts series. Comparable to UL-29 and KOSMOS 16, it offers extended flow time, low room-temperature activity, and heat-activated gelling with rapid post-curing for -NCO/-OH reactions. Ideal for pultrusion of high-strength polyurethane composites, RIM automotive panels, complex structural parts, and large castings.
TCAT-S029 is a delayed-action, hydrolysis-resistant organotin catalyst developed to address the issue of conventional organometallic catalysts gradually losing their activity—and failing to remain stable during long-term storage—when exposed to trace amounts of water, acids, or bases. Similar to imported organotin catalysts such as UL-29 and KOSMOS 16, TCAT-S029 offers the following characteristics:
? Excellent delayed-action properties with an extended flow period. As a delayed-action catalyst, TCAT-S029 provides a significantly longer duration during which the material remains in a low-viscosity, flowable state compared to T-12.
? A heat-activated gelling catalyst with rapid post-curing. It exhibits low catalytic activity at room temperature, which increases significantly as the temperature rises. It strongly promotes the reaction between -NCO and -OH groups. This characteristic is ideal for molding processes that require rapid curing at elevated temperatures, such as the pultrusion of high-strength polyurethane composites, the Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) process for automotive protective panels, and the production of complex structural components or large cast parts.
