AAC conductor is also known as aluminium stranded conductor. It is manufactured from electrolytically refined aluminium, with a minimum purity of 99.7%. AAC is used mainly in urban areas where the spacing is short and the supports are close. All aluminium conductors are made up of one or more strands of aluminium wire depending on the end usage. AAC is also used extensively in coastal regions because it has a high degree of corrosion resistance
AAAC – All Aluminum Alloy Conductor is used for primary and secondary overhead transmission and distribution services. This has been designed utilizing a high-strength aluminum alloy to achieve a high strength-to-weight ratio and better sag characteristic. The conductor has a higher resistance to corrosion than ACSR.
Bare overhead conductor used as transmission cable and as primary and secondary distribution cable. A good strength-toweight ratio makes ACAR applicable where both ampacity and strength are prime considerations in line design; for equal weight, ACAR offers higher stength and ampacity than ACSR.
ACCC is designed to operate continuously at elevated temperatures and has excellent sag characteristics through out the operating range. ACCC is the right choice if reconductoring of the existing lines are required to enhance the transmission capacity. This conductor offers Very low line losses and excellent self-damping properties. Because of it's high strength to weight ratio, ACCC can be used with long spans which brings down the cost of structures in new lines
