families. As early as 1971, Mr. Banerjee made the decision to switch to a 'permaculture' based system, and since 1991 production has been 100% organic and biodynamic and at the top of their
game. This tea is highly sought after by Darjeeling tea enthusiasts for its complex floral nose and flavor and its straightforward goodness. Makaibari Estate is located just south of the
Giddapahar Estate in the Kurseong South Valley, at approximately 4,500 feet elevation.
