Chemical composition of oil palm leaf, minus petiole, to consist of 14.8 % crude protein, 3.2% crude fat, 6.5 % nitrogen cell wall free extract, 16.6 % cellulose, 27.6% hemi-cellulose, 27.6 % lignin and 3.8% silica. Freshly chopped OPF is commercially available.
