UIC1601 is a color CMOS image sensor with 640E512E3 pixel array produced by private 3-in-1 technology. The principle of color separation is based on collection of photo carrier from different depths of silicon substrate. The sensor array does not require the external mosaic color filter and has image quality equivalent to standard 1.3Mpixel sensor with Bayer filter. Due to 3-in-1 design the sensor features improved digital resolution and lower effect of the color artifacts (moire). Special feature is the black-and-white mode with increased sensitivity.UIC1601 has on-chip control of exposure time, window size and position adjustment, programmable offset and gain control in each color channel, programmable timing diagram and control of reference voltages. In-built image processing provides the elimination of geometrical noise, the auto-balance of black level, widowing, scan direction select, etc.
