load cell

It is an Electro-Mechanical Transducer. When a Force or Load is applied on it, the Load cell transforms the corresponding change in its Mechanical Strain into an Electric Voltage. As the Strain changes due to variation of load, this analog output also changes accordingly. A Display / Control Unit is coupled with the Load cells and suitably calibrated in such a way that it receives the voltage outputs and displays the corresponding Loads in mechanical units.

This is widely used in all industrial weighing application.
