Faulted circuit indicators are particularly useful for narrowing down a location of a fault in Medium Voltage Systems. They could be mounted without insulation, directly on the conductor which would be monitored - bus bars, cable cores or open lines. They could be used for a Radial networks or in openly operated Ringed ones.
