Cement plants have developed from a simple wet process rotary kiln type to today's dry process cement manufacturing plants, with high output and maximized energy saving. This development faces the cement industry with new challenges in the maintenance of such complex equipment. Refractory lining maintenance is in general reduced to a couple of weeks per year. During this yearly shutdown all maintenance work has to be done to a tight time schedule and more importantly to a very high quality standard, so that the plant can operate without major problems for the following year. Refraline (Pty) Ltd has undertaken complete refractory installations at Cement Plants in South Africa and the Middle East.
