External electrodes or terminations provide the means for physical and electrical connection of the MLCC to the outside world; that is the printed circuit board or the Hybrid IC module.

The dielectric material is generally a type of Titanate (Barium Titanate for example) and the internal electrodes is usually Nickel or Palladium or one of its alloys such as Palladium-Silver.

It is primarily made up of interleaved layers of dielectric (insulating) and internal Electrodes and external electrodes.

MLCC is an electronic part that temporarily stores an electrical charge and the most prevalant type of capacitor today.
