SAILSHIP

Njord is a 36' wooden motor-sailer which we have built for Mr C. Orsini, a consultant naval architect of Menton, France. This boat is based on one of our standard hulls laid-out and rigged as per Mr Orsini's design. The boat is a strongly built displacement type hull of mainly wild jack wood (artocarpus hirsuta), carvel planked on sawn frames in our customary style using copper, brass and SS fastenings. Mr Orisini's boat is installed with an Indian-made Simpsons (Perkins) Diesel of 28 hp which drives her at a comfortable 7-8 knots.
