OHARA developed a new lighter material for eyeglasses with the Refractive Index of 1.9 and the Specific Gravity of 3.99, which is in addition to the conventional eyeglass material with the refractive index of 1.8 and 1.9. The lenses of eyeglasses with this material can be thinner, lighter, brighter and more durable against scratches.
