Measurements in wood
Display shows absolute moisture content between 6 and 30%, max error +/- 1%.
Green sector: 6-12% (air dry wood) Yellow sector: 13-19% (critical moisture content) Red sector: 20-30% (high moisture content)
Most paint and gloss manufacturers will indicate on their packaging what moisture content is acceptable in the material to be coated.
Measurements in plaster and brick
Display shows relative moisture content between 0 and 100%.
By measuring at various points of, for instance, a damp wall, the source of the moisture can be established. By measuring at different times, an increase/deer ease of the moisture
content can be detected and the cause can be narrowed down.
