Flame retardants for Nylon

Additives to polymer melt and topical finishes have been commercialised in flame-retardant finishes for nylon. Phosphorous and bromine containing compounds are the most common additives. The topical fire retardant finishes for nylon that are of special interest are the treatments based on the condensation product of thiourea with formaldehyde and urea.
