Silicone emulsion consists of silicone oil, water, surfactant and other additives.
Silicone oil has excellent heat, cold and chemical resistance, electrical insulation and water repellency and has low surface tension. These properties are applicable to a wide range of industries and demand is increasing. Silicone oil can be used by itself but it is often processed to meet various customer needs. Silicone emulsion produced by dispersing silicone oil into water is an example. Since water is used instead of organic solvent, silicone emulsion is environment-friendly and its importance is increasing.
Silicone emulsion is widely used as anti-foaming agent, release agent, water repellent, cosmetic ingredient, textile treatment, etc.
