Jasmine Absolute (Jasminum Grandiflorum) The absolute is obtained by solvent extraction of Jasmine Concrete, and has an intensely floral, and highly diffusive odour. It is native to Iran, and is now cultivated in Asia and Europe. It is used as a source of perfume. Flower syrups were used for coughs, and leaf tea to rinse sore eyes and wounds. Jasmine flowers make a calming and sedative infusion. It is externally used to soothe dry and sensitive skin. It is aromatic, anti-spasmodic, expectorant and antidepressant.
