Sesame Oil (Sesamum Orientale) The oil is obtained by cold pressing the seed, and is produced in India. It is used for constipation, liver and kidney problems. The seeds are prescribed for problems such as dizziness, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), and blurred vision. A decoction of the root is used to treat coughs and asthma. The oil is used as a base for cosmetics, and to make ointments. It is digestive, aromatic and antispasmodic.
