Bergamot Oil (Citrus Bergamia) # + ?This oil is obtained by cold pressing the peel, and is native to Tropical Asia. It has a floral and fruity aroma with a spicy note, and is mainly produced in Italy, California, and the Mediterranean countries. It is used for cystitis, chickenpox, eczema, psoriasis, acne and PMT and for digestive problems, appetite regulation and prevention of oily skin. It is also used in cosmetics and perfumery. It is a deodorant and refreshing agent. This oil (or constituents of it) is sometime added to sun-tanning oils. It is anti-septic, anti-fungal, dis-infectant, anti-spasmodic, anti-inflammatory, carminative, calming and uplifting and can be used for massage, bathing, inhalation and diffusion.
