Cedarwood Himalayan is a tall, evergreen tree standing up to 50m high. It grows extensively on the slopes of the Himalayas in northern India, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Colour: pale yellow green.Common uses: antiseptic, aphrodesiac, astringent, diuretic, expectorant, fungicidal, mucilytic, sedative (nervous), stimulant (circulatory), tonic. In India, Himalayan cedarwood oil has been shown to possess insecticidal and antifungal properties and to have some potential for control of fungal deterioration of spices during storage.
