Attar 96 JANNATHUL FIRDAUS
In the art of perfumery, sandalwoodoil is used as a 'base', or 'fixative'. It binds with the molecules ofthe fragrance oils and allows their subtleties to develop and lastlonger than if the flower oil was worn by itself. There is alchemy atwork here! A true attar is a perfume oil madefrom flower petals distilled in water using low heat and pressure. Someattars also contain exotic woods, spices and resins. Over severalweeks, the steam containing the fragrance oils is collected into acontainer of mild sandalwood oil. There, the oils blend together untilthe sandalwood is completely saturated with the fragrance of theflowers.
