With Dye sublimation, one can image onto uncoated polyester fabrics, or almost any material that has a polyester coating.

The idea of sublimation transfer is relatively simple. Its a two-step process that results in great images. Sublimation inks, also called disperse dyes, are reverse-printed onto a transfer paper. Next the Transfer paper is placed against the fabric and run through a heat press. Under the influence of heat and pressure, inks go into a gaseous state, migrate to the fabric and permanently bond with the fibers. Dye sublimation prints have been the benchmark of quality in the digital world.
