Vertical Honing Machine is to hone heavier components like Hydraulic/ Pneumatic Cylinders, Liners, Diesel Engine Connecting Rods, Hydraulic Valves, Crank Cases, Cylinder Blocks for 2 & 3 Wheelers, Compressor Cylinders, Refrigerator Parts, Steering Pistons, Pneumatic Tools, Gun Barrels etc on batch and mass production basis.

The honing cycle is fully automatic. The operator has to clamp the component on the table and press the cycle start button. The honing tool rotates, reciprocates and expands and the operation cycle stops after preset time. Different types and grits of stones are used depending upon the material removal and surface finish requirements. This operation improves geometrical accuracies like Taper, Ovality, Roundness and improves Surface Finish by removal of tool chatter marks etc., increasing bearing contact area.
