Alba Flue Gas Desulfurization Plant Project For Babcock Borsig Power- GermanyThe new 1.6 meters diameter Fibre Re-inforced Plastic (FRP) sea water lines were fabricated on site using lamination joints. The bonding of the joints involved using glass fibre matting and epoxy resins. MCSC had to set up a fabrication area for the prefabricated items where the training and qualification of MCSC fitters was completed. The work carried out by the experienced fitters was in the lamination of FRP pipework from 2 inches up to 1.6 meters dia.
