Chilled rolls Process -- Food Industry

The rolls are double poured duplex rolls and are manufactured by the advance centrifugal process. Duplex rolls have the advantage of selecting the harder best performing material on the working surface, which is primarily a clear carbon chilled cast iron or a Cr-Ni alloyed chill cast iron & a relatively softer material inside. After casting the rolls are annealed to relieve the internal stresses thus improving the strength of the material. After heat treatment the rolls are machined & fitted with spindles from both sides. Fluting is also done on the roll surface as per requirement of the customer.
