Metal matrix composite tapes are manufactured in various standard widths from 0.25 inch to 1.5 inches, and thicknesses from 0.010 to 0.025 inch, in continuous strips to 1,000 feet.
Tapes can be applied to existing aluminum structures to locally increase the strength and stiffness. The high strength aluminum composite tape can also be used as selective reinforcement to inhibit crack growth and to repair cracks. |
