Suitable for service against hot oil, hot gases and high temperature, high pressure steam. Style 1001 is excellent for such heavy duty bolted joints as water and steam pipe fittings and manifold connections.

A wire inserted, white asbestos gasketing material, compounded with a heat resistant binder for high temperature applications up to 1000?F. API anti-stick releasing agent is blended into the sheet surface to resist flange corrosion and permit easy joint separation. Style 1001 is tough, durable and extra strong with a typical tensile strength of 5000 psi across the grain. While having sufficient compressibility to provide a properly gasketed joint, it is resistant to plastic flow under heavy bolt loads.
