The motor can only start if the brake is released.

The microswitch is used to monitor the air gap. When the armature plate makes contact with the stator; the motor contactor is controlled via the microswitch.

     Monitoring microswitch option:

     This system offers flexibility by combining the basic modules with additional components to cover the widest possible range of applications.

     The main components of the new modular system are the two basic modules:

     The INTORQ BFK458 product range replaces the 14.448/14.449 and 14.450 spring-applied brake types.

     The brake is released electromagnetically.

     Since the braking force comes from pressure springs, the braking torque, which is generated by friction, is available when no current is applied even in the event of a mains failure.

     These electromagnetically released spring applied brakes can be used wherever rapid deceleration or controlled holding of moving masses is required.
