HORIZONTAL FILTER PRESS

The Horizontal Multiple Plate filter consits of a number of horizontal circular drainage plates and guides placed in a stack in a cylindrical shell. A filter cloth or paper is placed on each plate. The slurry to be processed is pumped to the plates via a central or an annular feed manifold. Filteration is continued until the desired rate is achieved. The cake is to be removed manually. the horizontal filter is best for small applications or in which cleanliness or sterile conditions are essential, specially in the pharmaceutically and food industries.
