Kalmar Nelcon ship-to-shore cranes are specifically designed for efficient loading and unloading of container ships. Ship-to-shore crane performance is essential for efficent operations. When unloading the ship, containers are placed either on terminal tractor trailers or directly to ground depending on the type of operation. Normally containers are placed directly under the ship-to-shore crane between the rails and hatch covers of the vessel placed under the backreach.
