Like everything else I make, I went overboard on the hardware. There are three supports under the seat and behind the backrest all held together with 2-1/2" screws and 3/8" bolts. I chose 3/8" eyebolts for the chain supports and hang the swing with 3/16" proof link chain.
All screws in the armrest and chain fascia are recessed and covered with real wood plugs and sanded to a fine finish. The chain supports are hidden from view and anchored to the seat of the patio swing and not the armrest.
All pieces are made by hand, sanded to ensure uniformity, and unique to each porch swing made. I countersink all screws in the seat and back.
Designed like a loveseat, this beautifully made patio swing is handmade using heart redwood. The seat is 48" wide and the back is 28" high and curved with a headrest.
