The chemical formula of ammonium iodide is NH4I. It is colorless crystal or granule at room temperature. Soluble in water, acetic acid, ammonia, soluble in ethanol, acetone; slightly soluble in ether. Sublimation of ammonium iodide after heating, the gas will appear yellow and brown when exposed to light and air.

Neutralization method:

Iodine and red phosphorus are added to a reactor containing water, and the reaction is carried out under stirring.
