Bitumen-polymer self-adhesive tape BITAREL JET-E is a roll material consisting of petroleum bitumen, polymer and structuring additives.
Application
Bitumen road joint tape BITAREL JET-E is used as a sealing tape for repairing cracks 2-5 mm wide on asphalt surfaces. It is mainly used for secondary roads; to prevent destruction of asphalt concrete surfaces in the areas of joints of interfaces of newly laid hot asphalt concrete with adjacent asphalt pavement, curbs, drainage trays, wells, metal hatches, gratings, tramways, etc.
Advantages
- high heat resistance;
- high adhesion to asphalt pavement;
- resistance to cyclic deformation;
- watertightness;
- easy installation.
- self-adhesive;
- ready for use.
Surfacepreparation
Before applying, the asphalt surface on which the tape is fixed must be cleaned of dust, dirt, debris, oils, and in the presence of water or ice, the surface must be blown with compressed air.
The area of the repaired crack should be dry and not contain loose parts.
Preparation of product
When storing the tape in a warehouse with an ambient temperature below 0°C before laying, it is necessary to carry out its thermostating in a room with an ambient temperature of 15°C-20°C for at least 24 hours before the time of use.
Product application
Sealing and repair of joints and cracks in the road surface
1. Rolls of BITAREL JET-E tape are removed from the factory packaging and unwound along the seam or crack with anti-adhesive paper downwards.
2. Remove the anti-adhesive paper from the BITAREL JET-E tape and tightly apply the adhesive side to the seam or crack, fix it by pressing. Connection of adjacent tapes is carried out butt-to-butt.
3. In case of tape detachment from the surface it is allowed to heat the road surface with gas burners up to 100°C-120°C.
Pair of adjacent lanes
1. Rolls of BITAREL JET-E docking tape are removed from the factory packaging and unwound along the edge of the asphalt concrete with anti-adhesive paper down.
2. BITAREL JET-E docking tape is tightly applied with the inner side to the edge of the strip at the level with the road surface or above up to 5 mm, fix it by pressing and remove the protective anti-adhesive paper. The minimum deviation of the edge of the docking tape from the surface of the layer is not more than 5 mm. the Connection of adjacent tapes is carried out butt-to-butt. If necessary, the excess tape is removed with a metal knife.
3. Laying and compaction of asphalt concrete mix. Fixation of the docking tape should be carried out ahead of the movement of the paver at a distance of 50 to 100 m.
Operating temperature limits:-5°C to +60°C
Type of packaging:packed in cardboard drums (5 rolls / drum).
Working temperature of heating in the limits:does not require heating
Work on the application of the product:must be applied at an ambient temperature not lower than + 5°C. At temperatures below +10°C, the adhesive force of the tape can be increased by heating the asphalt surface with a propane burner.
