Solubility
Freely soluble in ethanol, propylene glycol, polyethylene glycol; very slightly soluble in water.
Compatibility
Compatible with most cosmetic ingredients, such as surfactants, emulsifiers, proteins and herbal extracts.
Antimicrobial Activity
IPBC is very effective against yeasts and molds, also provides some protection against bacteria.

REGULATORY STATUS

APPLICATIONS
IPBC is an excellent preservative for both leave-on and rinse-off products such as creams, lotions, shampoos, rinses, bubble baths, wipes and towelettes, etc., and raw materials. It exhibits the following features and benefits:
Extremely effective fungicide at low concentrations
Compatible with essentially all cosmetic ingredients
Synergistic with other preservatives to provide broad spectrum preservation
Stable over a wide range of pH（4～10）
Can be added into the oil phase or the emulsified portion at any stage of the manufacturing process; also pre-solubilized in a polar organic component. And should be at the lowest temperature (≤50℃) if possible.
The recommended use level is 0.005～0.02%
Application
IPBC is a highly effective antiseptic mainly used in products such as cosmetic, chemical-commodity, paint, leather, plastic, timber, and chemical metal-cutting liquid, Sapstain control, millwork, textiles, paper coatings, canvas and cordage, inks, adhesives.
