Introduction: vitamin C (also known as L- ascorbic acid) is an essential nutrient for higher primates and other small organisms. Ascorbic acid in most organisms can be produced by metabolism, but human being is the most notable exception. The most well known is the lack of vitamin C can cause scurvy. In living organisms, vitamin C is an antioxidant that protects the body from free radicals, and vitamin C is also a coenzyme. The food source for all kinds of fresh Vegetable & Fruit. Drug functions: vitamin C for antibodies and collagen formation, tissue repair (including certain redox role), phenylalanine, tyrosine, folic acid metabolism, iron, carbohydrate utilization, fat, protein synthesis, maintenance of immune function, and to maintain the integrity of blood vessels, promote non heme iron absorption, etc., while vitamin C also has antioxidant, anti free radicals, so as to achieve the effect of the whitening, blemish. In the human body, vitamin C is an effective antioxidant, which is used to reduce the oxidation of stress ascorbate (peroxidase) to the substrate. There is also a need for vitamin C to be involved in the biosynthesis of many important processes.

简介：维生素C（英语：Vitamin C，又称L-抗坏血酸）是高等灵长类动物与其他少数生物的必需营养素。抗坏血酸在大多的生物体可借由新陈代谢制造出来，但是人类是最显著的例外。最广为人知的是缺乏维生素C会造成坏血病。在生物体内，维生素C是一种抗氧化剂，保护身体免于自由基的威胁，维生素C同时也是一种辅酶。其广泛的食物来源为各类新鲜蔬果。维生素C（英语：Vitamin C，又称L-抗坏血酸）为酸性己糖衍生物，是稀醇式己糖酸内酯，Vc主要来源新鲜水果和蔬菜，是高等灵长类动物与其他少数生物的必需营养素。Vc有L-型和D-型两种异构体，只有L-型的才具有生理功能，还原型和氧化型都有生理活性。

用途：医药原料，有机中间体

药物功能：维生素C为抗体及胶原形成，组织修补（包括某些氧化还原作用），苯丙氨酸、酪氨酸、叶酸的代谢，铁、碳水化合物的利用，脂肪、蛋白质的合成，维持免疫功能，羟化与羟色胺，保持血管的完整，促进非血红素铁吸收等所必需，同时维生素C还具备有抗氧化，抗自由基，抑制酪氨酸酶的形成，从而达到美白，淡斑的功效。在人体内，维生素C是高效抗氧化剂，用来减轻抗坏血酸过氧化物酶（ascorbate peroxidase）基底的氧化应力（oxidative stress）。还有许多重要的生物合成过程中也需要维生素C参与作用。

⑴解毒。体内补充大量的维生素C后，可以缓解铅、汞、镉、砷等重金属对机体的毒害作用。

⑵预防癌症。许多研究证明维生素C可以阻断致癌物N-亚硝基化合物合成，预防癌症。

⑶清除自由基。
