Fote recommend maintaining spare smooth rollers mounted on centers and shafts, which can be resurfaced in a machine shop and exchanged with worn rollers as necessary. Our ultra-durable high chrome iron alloy extends the time between required resurfacings.
Both rollers have a spring-loaded steel scraper and the machine has a lubrication manifold on each side. The spherical-roller bearings are self-aligning and grease-lubricated. Castings, other than wearing parts, are ductile SG iron and virtually indestructible.
