5-apb with the formal name of 5-(2-aminopropyl)benzofuran and a systematic name of 1-(1-Benzofuran-5-yl)-2-propanamine is known as a triple monomine reuptake inhibitor that is a strong agonist for the 5-HT2B receptor. The research compound is often found as hydrochloride salt and succinate.

The molecular formula for 5-apb is C11H13NO with a molecular weight of 175.23 g/mol. The average mass is 175.227005 Da while the monoisotpic mass is 175.099716 Da.

Research on 5-apb was conducted by ACD/Labs' and US Environmental Protection Agency's EPISuite.
