metalman is an ISO 9001: 2000 registered firm certified by DET NORSKE VERITAS of the Netherlands (who are accredited by RvA) for manufacture and supply of Cold Rolled Steel Sheets / Strips / coils, Cold Rolled Galvanised plain steel Sheets / Strips / Coils and Corrugated steel Sheets. We also manufacture black and galvanised pipes, precision tubes and hollow sections and have manufacturing facilities situated at various locations in India. Metalman commenced business on May 12, 1971 with production of black pipes. Soon the company started producing specialised pipes and galvanising into production facilities. The company which was incorporated as a Private Limited Company, was converted into a public limited company on 26th May 1986. Precision Tubes and Hollow Sections were then added to the product range, in the production facilites at Indore Plant. New manufacturing facilites were established at Pithampur Works to produce Cold Rolled Sheets and Coils and Galvanised Plain and Corrugated Sheets. The name of the company was changed from Metalman Pipe Manufacturing Company Limited, to Metalman Industries Limited with effect from 16th January 1996. The company is currently exporting its products all over the world and is determined to become a global player in Steel. The pickled coils are then Cold Rolled on a 4 HI Mill, which ensures superb flatness. The Mill is fully computerized, using MMS Software with, non contact gauging system coupled with automatic guage controller. The automatic gauge control system ensures uniform and desired thickness. When required the material is heat treated in bell furnaces in controlled inert atmosphere for obtaining required softness and maintain bright surface finish. The material then is skin passed, slitted and levelled and cut on an automatic Cut to Length line as per customer's requirement. For safety during transit, the material is wrapped with Polynesian cloth after giving suitable support and protection at the edges and on the bore. Coils and Bundles are suitably tagged for proper identification. The primary scale that is formed on the heated slab is removed by high pressure water at 150 / 200 bar by the descaling unit. This operation is performed prior to entry of slab in the vertical edger.
