Farmers of North America (FNA) was established by a Saskatchewan farm family in March, 1998, with the sole goal of creating more profitability for Canadian farmers who join the organization. From those humble beginnings arose an organization that today encompasses over 12 million acres of cropland and over 8,000 producers across Canada.FNA Foods (a subsidiary of FNA), is moving forward with its Special Crops Marketing Program. Its objective is to merchandise domestically and abroad several thousand metric tons per month of these special crops as dry grains. FNA Foods will use six pre-qualified processing plants located strategically within the production areas of Canada. Canada produces 90% of the world's export mustard, 90% of the world's export green lentils and 100% of the world's export canary seed. A minimum of 20 to 25% of this production comes from members of FNA.FNA Foods is pleased to bring its Canadian special crops producing members closer to the domestic and international buyers. And we will make it easier for the buyers or end-users that do not have the ability to work with individual farmers, to tap into the source of supply by working with FNA Foods.
