Founded in 1996 by Ms Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai, Tay Son began as a small family business with only 20 employees to serve the niche domestic market.As Vietnam opened up to the world, Mrs Mai saw the opportunities for expansion. Tay Son could target the huge potential market of foreigners visiting Vietnam. Tay Son business strategy underwent a major change, from the domestic market to the international arena, via export and e-retial.Manufacturing capacity was increased from 200 m2 with 15 artists to 1,000 m2 with 50 artists, in order to meet elevated international demand.
