Docs Candles began in 1997 as a hobby of Filipino doctor-painter, Dr. Marichu Liwag. She learned the craft through reading numerous books and have perfected the art of candlemaking ever since. Aiming for perfection, she created her own designs, style and color patterns. In 1999, Danish Morten Carstensen joined forces with Dr. Liwag combining marketing, customer service and development of new designs. Docs Candles now employs a total of 140 employees nationwide including the retail outlets. Another 200 people work as sub contractors of boxes and irons works in various provinces of the Philippines making papermache boxes, wrought iron and shell lamps. Docs Candles exports go out to over 20 countries worldwide, local wholesale is done in form of corporate gifts and specialized projects. Their 8 retail stores and 2 franchises along with 15 concessionaires in Robinsons Department Stores helps keep them busy year round. We offer wax products you have surely not seen before, our hand carving and techniques are envied by almost as many who have tried to copy us!
