The pure perfume contains 15-30% concentration of perfume oils and lasts up to 6 hours. The Eau de parfum (EDP) normally contains 8-15% of perfume oils concentration. EDP is therefore lighter than pure perfume, but is stronger than eau de toilette (EDT). EDP has quite long lasting characteristics, from 3 to 5 hours depending on fragrance intensity, which is excellent for either day or evening wear.

If you are not the person who prefers a heavily concentrated fragrance, EDP is an excellent choice. Normally, one spray of EDP behind your ear or on your wrist is enough. Avoid rubbing the perfume into your skin after spraying - it may destroy the molecules structure and create a somewhat different fragrance. The warmth of your skin will make the fragrance stronger in a few minutes. For stronger concentration, spray two times.

If you like only a light touch of scent, you might find that EDT will work better for you because EDT contains 4-8% concentration of perfume oils, which normally lasts from 2 to 4 hours. To have a stronger concentration with EDT, spray two times as well.

Please remember that some people around you may be allergic to certain pure perfumes. This, in addition to pure perfumes being extremely rare and very highly priced, is the reason why many people prefer EDP or EDT spray perfumes. Besides, EDP and EDT sprays are in the majority of products you may normally find in the high-end fragrance stores.

Interestingly, the same perfume may smell very differently on different people as well as for different people depending on unique skin qualities and scent inhaling sensitivities every one of us has. It may also depend on weather, location, level of humidity, and your overall emotional state as well as different phases/notes included by fragrance creators into the perfume gamma itself. Even a different store and associated with it emotions may matter. Often, we may impulsively purchase something smelling exremely nice from the tester in the store that will never smell like that from the bottle brought home just because of a different temperature levels and air climate environment. It is also very unlikely that any fragrance will release same scent throughout different phases of your day. To make sure your perfume does not change its formula over the time, make sure to keep it in a cool, dry, and somewhat darkened place.
