Polishing one side of the diamond die blanks is one of the patents of the Supower company, and it is the image of Supower as well. For CXD and CVD diamond die blanks, the polished side is recommended to be the exit of the wire dies. The polishing of CXT diamond die blanks is unnecessary.
After one years trial use, Supower has added tungsten carbide supported die blanks, namely CXDW, to its comprehensive product range.
4. Tungsten carbide supported die blanks
CXT diamond die blanks are recommended to for hot drawing of tungsten and molybdenum, their surface finish and tool life are not as good as CVD diamond, yet they display much better performances than conventional PCD products made in mainland of China, and the price is lower than CXD die blanks. Therefore, CXT is bound to be popularized in hot drawing of tungsten and molybdenum.
CXT has been formerly applied as dressing logs and drill bits. After a number of trials in 2006, Supower CXT die blanks have been recognized by customers from the Occident.
